  • Engineered Steel Pressure Pipe (AWWA C200)
Manufactured to AWWA M11 standards, we produce spiralweld pipe and rolled-and-welded straight seam pipe in sizes 12” to 156” and larger. Each piece is engineered to meet the unique challenges and exacting specifications of your hydropower project....

  • Northwest Pipe Company manufactures engineered spiralweld and seam-weld pipe to the exacting specifications of your project and in accordance to AWWA C200 and Manual M11 standards. Our pipe cylinders, coating, lining, and fabrication of specials are manufactured in ISO 9001:2015 certified facilities. With a performance-based design, our steel water pipe is made to last. It is lightweight, manufactured to order, seismic resistant, easy to install, and lasts for decades. No other water pipe provides as an exceptional value or low cost of ownership.

    • Standard diameters of 12” to 156”
    • Lengths up to 60’
    • Thicknesses 0.135” to 1.0”

    • Operating pressures from 150 to more than 850 psi

We lead the industry in joint technology and scientific analysis to construct joints that maintain integrity for the service life of your project. Depending on pipe functionality and site conditions, your team will select either an unrestrained joint, which has a gasket, or a welded restrained joint. Both are designed to provide a permanent watertight seal.

    Joint Options:
    • Unrestrained Joints: O-Ring rolled groove rubber gasket, VanderSeal (rubber compression type joint)
    • Restrained Joints: Bell-and-spigot lap weld, butt-strap, butt-weld
    • Infra-Shield seismic resilient joint

Water Transmission pipelines achieve incredibly long lifespans with the use of modern protective linings. These long-standing protective systems prevent corrosion, an electrochemical process that oxidases steel in the presence of moisture and oxygen. Our factory-applied protective linings isolate the steel pipe while ensuring safe water delivery.

    Lining Options:
    • Cement mortar (AWWA C205)
    • Polyurethane (AWWA C222)
    • Liquid Epoxy (AWWA C210).

Applied to the pipe exterior, coatings are the first line of protection against corrosion and other elements. Coatings prohibit corrosion, which can occur from corrosive soils, dissimilar metals, bacteria, stresses, or stray electrical current in the ground. To further the long performance life of steel pipe, Northwest Pipe offers both dielectric and chemical inhibitor pipe coatings.

    Coating Options:
    • Cement mortar (AWWA C205)
    • Polyurethane (AWWA C222)
    • Epoxy (AWWA C210)
    • Tape (AWWA C214)

A full range of pipe and fittings is available with the expert craftsmanship and technical capabilities of our in-house fabrication team. Our technicians are independently certified by NACE, AWS, or SSPC. Special pipe includes short lengths, beveled ends, manhole outlets, air valves, blowoffs, and other connections. Fittings include common wyes and tees, elbows, reducers, and connections to mainline valves and appurtenances, as well as more intricate, project-specific customizations.

Our steel pipe is engineered for large-scale transport of potable and non-potable water in penstock, water mains, wastewater, and industrial applications. It is often used in water infrastructure projects including new or replacement transmission lines, or water and wastewater treatment lines.

In addition to exceptional quality and value, Northwest Pipe Company offers unmatched service. Our in-house engineering team is involved in every step of the process, supporting your project through design, specification, installation, and testing. Our project managers ensure your project meets quality standards and is on track and budget. A designated field service team provides on-site training, supports construction crew, troubleshoots field issues, and acts as a stakeholder liaison.
