    Description

Being an instructor in today’s fire service has never proven to be more difficult. Generational gaps have caused us to learn to use different tactics when instructing. We, as trainers, need to understand how to relate to all our members.  Generational differences and learning disabilities are not our only obstacle when instructing. Both career and volunteer organizations provide different speed bumps on our road to success. This class presents ways to relay the same information to different generations of firefighters. Firefighters may enter our service with prior learning disabilities; we as instructors must be able to recognize and accommodate their learning styles. Understanding different methods of instruction and how to use them will provide for a safer, more efficient firefighting crew.
