    Seattle (WA) Fire Department
    United States

All aspects of engine company operations are covered. To pursue an aggressive interior attack, a firefighter must be able to read the environment and use benchmarks and quantifiable knowledge to determine the best course of action. Suppression, which provides the backbone for job success, is the product of several factors. Most important are fire behavior and the use of hose in context to the fire. The takeaway message is that firefighters must understand the capacity of our tools, we must be competent with our skills, and we must understand our environment. This class teaches the skills, skill sets, the context of skill application, and a methodology with regard to fire attack and handline management.
