In Dec 2015, Sumitomo Electric commissioned a 15MW/60MWh Vanadium flow battery systems on Hokkaido island to support Hokkaido utility’s transmission and distribution operation. A 2MW/8MWh Vanadium flow battery system is under construction now in U.S and will be commissioned by beginning of 2017.
