  • CHARACTERISTICS 

    Signaling Pin: after actuation the pin remains activated and should return to the original position manually. In valves equipped with contacts, the pin activates the contacts that are connected in the protection system and turning off of the transformer.

    Protection against hot oil: the valves are equipped with a protection metallic cover, directing the oil to the sides. In relief valves with flow director (VAD) a piping is required for oil capture.

    PROTECTION

    Insulation in voltage applied against ground of 2000 V, 60 Hz during 1 minute. The housing supports an under pressure stanching of 2 Kgf/cm² in isolating liquid at 85ºC during 30 minutes. Protected against water and dust penetration as per IP 65 NBR 6146, in compliance with NBR 12 456 Rule.

    Earthquake proof and equipped with magnetic Reed and with reversible contacts

    OPERATION

    The Gas Relay is equipped with two floats. The one of the upper part of the body and the alarm have the function to detect accumulation of gas and oil leakages. When this occurs, the float goes down and activate the electric contact that can be the mercury ampoule or magnetic Reed. The second float positioned in the center of the oil flow is the "Turn Off" float and has a function similar to the Alarm, however generally it is activated by the increase of oil flow that occurs when a significant gas release occur in the inner part of the transformer or when a thermal overcharge occurs caused by a short circuit. These are the most frequent causes for the relay deactivation, when this occurs, the problem should be solved immediately in order to avoid the relay from being in operation all the time causing an even higher damage to the transformer.

    OPERATION 

    The level magnetic indicator pointer is moved by means of two permanent magnets that are coupled to a float. Move is effected by the float, according to the level of the existing liquid thus transmitting an accurate indication to the pointer. Such move can be axial or radial according to customer specification. On the dial gauge, there are minimum level and maximum level marks as well as the level indication at 25°C. The indicator is equipped with two electric contacts, the first will be activated when an oil leakage occurs in the transformer and the oil reaches the minimum level in the reservoir. The second will be activated when an oil expansion occurs in the reservoir and the oil reaches the maximum level in the Indicator scale.
