  • AQ 100 series Arc Flash Protection relays are designed utilizing the most modern technology with a focus on simplicity while maintaining both flexibility and function. It is built to meet the growing demands in both LV and MV switchgear and control gear applications ranging from basic stand-alone to more complex system solutions. 

    AQ 100 series is a sophisticated microprocessor-based arc flash protection relay family with combined current and light and pressure arc sensing. When the AQ 100 system detects an overcurrent in the main feeder and a light and/or pressure sensor activates, it minimizes the damage caused by an arc flash by tripping the circuit breaker sourcing the fault current. The AQ 100 system's complete self-supervision function provides the highest level of dependability by continuously monitoring all internal system functions along with external connections.

    Arcteq offers a choice of different types of arc sensors to be utilized in different units and different switchgear types according to specific application requirements. Available sensor types are arc light point sensors and combined pressure and light sensors. Unique sensor for demanding GIS installations is available as well. The fiber optic loop sensors ensure light detection of each compartment in the switchgear. Up to 50 meter long fiber can be supplied either in plastic or robust mul­tithread class fiber. 

  • AQ 1000 - Arc Quenching Device
    AQ 1000 is a UL 2748 listed arc quenching device offering less than 5ms arc flash total clearing time....

  • AQ 1000 arc quenching device extinguishes arcing faults in systems with rated voltage of below 1000V within 5ms of arc initiation. The AQ 1000 Arc Quenching System is developed to limit the total arcing time to 5ms and to minimize or even eliminate the arcing fault thermal and pressure damaging effects. In most applications this will result in a calorie/cm2 energy release of less than 1. The AQ 1000 is fully reusable allowing for full system testing at site.

    The AQ 1000 is utilized in conjunction with the AQ 100 arc flash protection system. In case of an arcing fault the AQ 100 detects the fault, triggers the AQ 1000 arc quenching system and simultaneously trips the fault feeding circuit breaker(s). The AQ 1000 creates a three-phase to ground low-impedance parallel path for fault current to flow thus extinguishing the arc fault. The total arcing time is 5ms.

Powerful PLC programming is included for the most demanding applications allowing for extensive customization. Up to 100 disturbance records of up to 10 seconds each and 10 000 events are stored in non-volatile memory.

    Native Ethernet communication provides for fast and seamless communication. The AQ-200 communicates using variety of standard protocols including IEC 61850 substation communication standard with fast GOOSE messaging.
