 Products

  • ProRox® PS 960/980 with WR-Tech™
ProRox® mandrel wound pipe sections with WR-Tech™ are water-repellent, pre-formed stone wool pipe sections. They are supplied split and hinged for easy snap-on assembly, and are suitable for thermal and acoustical insulation of industrial pipe work....

  • ProRox® PS 960/980 with WR-Tech™

ROCKWOOL's next generation ProRox mandrel wound stone wool pipe sections with WR-Tech™ absorb less water, dry faster, are more durable and have a very low water-leachable salt content - all of which minimize the risk of corrosion under insulation.

ProRox pipe sections are lightweight, mandrel-wound stone wool pipe insulation designed specifically for high-temperature steam and process pipe systems operating at temperatures up to 1200 °F (650 °C).

Fire Resilience – ProRox can withstand temperatures above 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit

    • Extremely resilient to fire

    • Remains stable at very high temperatures

    • Works to contain fire and prevent it from spreading

    • Does not contribute to the development or spread of toxic gases

    Thermal Properties
    – lower thermal conductivity means better thermal insulation performance.

    • ProRox derives its great thermal characteristics from tiny pockets of air trapped within the physical structure

    • Cost savings for plant operators through lower fuel consumption

    • Requires less insulation, less jacketing and less installation labor

    • Long-term thermal performance is unaffected by moisture over time, due to the inherent drying potential of the product

    • High temperature exposure has a negligible effect on thermal conductivity

Acoustic Capabilities – ProRox can block and absorb sounds while calcium silicate tends to transfer sounds directly through the insulation

    • Meets the highest level of acoustic performance for insertion loss – classes A, B, C, and D

    • Deduction in ambient noise increases personal protection for plant employees

    • Open, porous structure makes stone wool insulation a highly-efficient sound absorber

    • Higher air flow resistivity means better sound attenuation

    • High-quality fiber structure absorbs acoustical waves and reduces the intensity and propagation of noise

    Water Properties
    – ProRox with WR Tech™ is water repellent, yet vapor permeable

    • 5x lower absorption than the best available standard (EN 13472), minimizing water absorption and maximizing water flow away from insulation material

    • Fast moisture dissipation – the open structure of the insulation ensures that any water that might reach the pipe surface can evaporate freely. The low water absorption ensures the fastest dry-out time

    • Low amount of leachable chlorides (higher concentrations of leached chlorides = higher corrosion rates)

    • Durable water repellent performance over the entire corrosion under insulation temperature range

    Robustness
    – stone wool is extremely durable, which allows very little risk to damage during handling, transportation, and installation

    • ProRox pipe sections are resilient to walking and impact damage

    • ProRox pipe sections won't shrink, shatter, fracture or crack during installation or throughout the life of the product

    • The physical structure of stone wool keeps its shape and toughness despite changes in temperature and humidity

    • Easy-to-fit / handle and adaptable to all types of irregularities

    Circularity
    – reusable and recyclable materials

    • Stone wool is reusable – continuously creating new values from old materials

    • Stone wool can be removed and re-installed for many cycles, without breakage

    • Stone wool is made from resources with reserves that last millions of years and are constantly renewing (volcanic rock)

    • Stone wool is 100% recyclable

    Compliance

ProRox PS 960/980 pipe sections fully comply with the requirements as set by internationally recognized standards like EN 14303, CINI 2.2.03, VDI 2055, ASTM C795, ASTM C547: Grade A for

Type I, II, IV. Above product properties reflect only to European (EN) standards. Compliance and Performance according to ASTM standards can be found on our website. Please contact our sales representatives for an extended list of approvals & certifications. Noise reduction data available in accordance to ISO 15665.
