    A newly added feature of the V2  is the Overview Screen.  This provides an instant view of system status across multiple genset systems.  System notifications are clearly displayed and links provide direct access for further analysis, aiding efficient maintenance and fault finding.

    Messages and alerts can also be sent to an email or cell phone notifying of an alarm, warning, shutdown or system status.

    Comprehensive instrumentation and reporting

    Sophisticated monitoring of key information such as mains and genset power consumption, alternator and engine, fuel levels and usage, fuel in the bund tank, engine hours and engine status, alarms and warnings etc. and access to the extensive event logs has been made easy, enabling preventative maintenance and faster fault analysis. 

    Key data can be downloaded in multiple formats or sent direct to the user.  Formats are available for spreadsheet compatibility allowing detailed analysis which can help identify trends.  Many users find this helpful in ‘fine tuning’ engines when looking for environmental or engine efficiencies, and it is also useful as an additional fault finding tool.

                   

    Geographical locations

    Security of gensets is of increasing importance, especially for rental companies where assets are made to be mobile or transportable.  Using DSEWebNet®, genset locations can be traced through GPS, and using the Geo-fencing function, alarms can be sent if assets are moved outside a designated boundary.  Sites are pinned to Google Maps for an operational overview with direct links for status information.

    Configuring the software to meet unique requirements

    Control and monitoring can be configured for bespoke application requirements using DSE’s in-built GUI tools, and Templates can be used to achieve a unique company look and feel or to replicate company branding.  Settings are easily replicated across multiple systems.

    DSE has a range of load sharing and synchronizing control modules offering a flexible, user-friendly solution for multiple power applications including diesel and gas, renewables, hybrid and utility connected.  Their modules offer a range of sophisticated built-in features that can be easily configured to suit a wide range of different end user applications including telecoms, data centers, military, manufacturing, food processing, finance, health services and many more.

    DSE synchronizing and load share modules offer easy set up in a simple 4-step format, reducing the time consuming installation process and removing many of the problems and worries often experienced by installation engineers.  By following DSE’s 4-step guide it will lead you through previously thought of complex system settings, to an easier approach to load sharing.

    STEP ONE

    Start the engine (electronic or standard) via the control module and perform a number of recommended tests on the Frequency and Voltage, making the required adjustments as directed.

    STEP TWO

    To provide the module with electrical readings, start the engine and close the breaker onto a load.  Then check the CTs are on the correct phase and orientation.

    STEP THREE

    Using SCADA within DSE Configuration Suite PC Software, check all modules are connected.

    Remove an MSC connection to one of the modules, and all modules in the same system should alarm, confirming they are communicating with one another.

    STEP FOUR

    Make the BUS live by starting a genset and closing it onto the dead BUS.  Using a Digital Volt Meter perform a range of recommended tests on the 3 phases across all gensets.
