    Holtec’s water cooled condensers are designed for a variety of configurations, such as cylindrical, inverted “U”, rectangular, axial exhaust, down exhaust, single or multiple pressure, single or multiple shell, divided or non-divided waterbox, as well as combinations designed to meet our clients needs.

    Characteristics that enhance the reliability and performance of Holtec's condensers include proper steam distribution, optimized steam lanes in the tube layout, efficient collection of non-condensible gases in a optimally sized and located air cooling zone, stripping of the dripping condensate to minimize oxygen content in the hotwell, leak tight tube-tubeshet joints, and modular construction to minimize field erection.

  • Holtec’s Air Cooled Condenser (ACC) product line is designed by Holtec’s experienced team of innovative engineers who have an average tenure of over 15 years. Holtec began serving the ACC market in 2008 and employs an engineering staff that has successfully designed and deployed over 80 ACCs worldwide on power plants with outputs of up to 1000 MW, and installation locations ranging from Alaska to Saudi Arabia.

    A large portion of the required lead time for an ACC is dedicated to the custom engineering of each project, making the ACC the critical path item in power plant construction. Holtec has reduced the lead time significantly by pre-engineering the entire ACC cell. Standardization ultimately results in efficient, predictable, and repetitive cell performance. The cell is designed to accommodate any site erection strategy; from completely stick-built to fully modularized construction. This innovative design significantly reduces erection complexity and construction lead time.

    Holtec’s ACC heat transfer technology, HI-MAX, has been developed entirely in-house. The geometry and materials were selected based on extensive FEA, an exhaustive array of tests, and verified with CFD modeling.

Holtec feedwater heaters are designed and fabricated to the highest standards of reliability and quality for power plants ranging from 10MW to 1500 MW. A wide variety of configurations are offered such as horizontal, vertical, channel up, channel down, one zone, two zone, three zone, duplex, or combinations best suited to meet our clients needs. High pressure heaters channel closures can be cup forging with bolted cover, pressure seal, breech lock or hemi-head/manway. In replacement applications, Holtec offers complete heaters, tube bundles, parts or services as required.

    Feedwater heaters in nuclear and fossil applications experience failures or aging degradation from mechanisms, namely vibration induced damage, flow accelerated corrosion (FAC), or surface area loss to tube leakage and plugging require replacement to restore plant and operational performance. Holtec’s custom software, based on operational performance experience, has the capability to analyze each zone to ensure an optimum performance configuration.

    Holtec’s feedwater heaters are designed to consider:
