Profile

Chris Gindorff began his food service career in a small pastry shop over 39 years ago. He has spent most of his time working in food manufacturing environments and for the past 15 years working with a dual responsibility with both manufacturing and retail. He has enjoyed working in a Food Safety/ Quality Assurance role for the past 28 years.

Currently, Chris is the Senior Manager of Food Safety/Quality Assurance for Lund Food Holdings, Inc. with responsibilities to their FDA inspected facility in Minnesota, their FDA / USDA inspected facility in Iowa, and their 28 retail locations.

He enjoys building relationships with various regulatory agencies and industry groups. Chris has partnered with the University of Minnesota’s Food Protection and Defense Institute, participating in their initiatives and outreach educational programs for more than 10 years. He has helped the MN Department of Agriculture train on the topic of traceability to students at the University of Minnesota. As well, he serves as a U of M Alumni Association Mentor helping today’s students pursue their goals and interests in the food science field.


As a Committee Member with the Food Marketing Institute, Chris has served on the Food Protection Committee, having recently completing a two-year term as Committee Chair. He is currently serving his second four-year term on the Minnesota Food Safety and Defense Task Force as Co-Chair. He is a member of the Food Industry Thought Leaders with Agricultural Utilization Research Institute (AURI). He has also been an industry voting member for Minnesota grocers with the Minnesota Food Code Rule Revision Advisory Committee.
