Hy-Grade Valve, Inc. manufactures precision-engineered Severe Service Check Valves (SSCKV) which are designed to operate in applications where commodity check valves historically fail.
Hy-Grade Valve was established in 1984 and our check valves are still 100% made in the USA on CNC equipment, in house, from bar stock and forged raw material.
Hy-Grade check valves are used in high temperature, high pressure, corrosive, and erosive applications in industries such as Oil & Gas, Refining, Pulp & Paper, Utilities, Marine, Chemical, Pipeline, Petro Chemical, Mining, OEM, etc.
They are available in sizes 1” – 54” (25mm – 1350mm) and Classes ASME 150 – 2500, API 3,000 – 15,000 WP, ISO PN 20 – 420. The standard valves are per API 594 wafer or lug wafer dimensions, but we can also produce valves with ASME B16.10 face-to-face dimensions, thin wafer dimensions, or any other non-standard dimensions required by the customer. We manufacture valves in any material specified by the customer which is procurable and machine-able. Common materials include standard A105 and 316 Stainless Steel up through high Nickel Alloys (Alloy 625, Alloy C-276, Alloy 400), Duplex Stainless Steels, Copper Alloys, and various grades of Titanium.
The design features a single-piece disc/shaft/hinge-pin assembly. The single-piece disc replaces as many as 5-7 components which make up the disc assembly on typical check valves. In short, less components means greater reliability and less opportunity for failures.
With 30+ years of technical experience designing and manufacturing check valves, Hy-Grade has learned that most check valves fail prematurely due to improper sizing. Hy-Grade can size the bore of our check valves to meet the individual flow conditions of customers. Often times this means reducing the bore of the check valve by 1 or 2 nominal pipe sizes in order to elevate the flow velocity enough to provide maximum opening of the disc. We are able to do this while maintaining the external dimensions of the valve which prevents the need for piping modifications.
The combination of superior materials and design and the ability to properly size for flow conditions leads to a check valve that far outlasts and outperforms the commodity check valves on the market. This leads to significant savings in cost of ownership and unscheduled down-time.
