  • Biomass gasification principle

    Biomass gasification means incomplete combustion of biomass resulting in production of combustible gases, including Carbon monoxide (CO), Hydrogen (H2), Methane (CH4), CmHn, this mixture is called pyrolysis gas that can be used to run internal combustion engines, and generate CHP. The production of pyrolysis gas called gasification, is partial combustion of biomass (such as rice husk, woodchips, saw dust, crop stalk, coconut hull, bagasse, olive pomace etc.). The reactor is called gasifier.

    C + O2 = CO2

    2H2 + O2 = 2H2O

    C + CO2= 2CO

    C + H2O = CO + H2

    CO + H2O = CO + H2

    C + 2H2 = CH4

    CO2 + H2 = CO + H2O

    Water for gas cleaning and cooling can be used in a circulating way without environmental pollution after it’s treated througffh water treatment facilities such as sediment pond, and a little of making-up water required. The water pond for each unit of 200kw plant only covers about 50m2.

    2.Biomass Gasification for Power generation

    Power generation by using biomass gas from rice husk, wood chips, saw dust, coconut husk, bagasse, crop stalks and olive pomace can not only save electricity expenses in the production cost for rice mills, timber processing mills, farm and plantations etc., but also get benefits from selling surplus electric power to the power grid.

    The engines and generator, electrical equipments should be put indoors, and other equipments could be put outdoors. The construction area for each 200kw generator set is approximate 40~50m2.

    The self-consumption power rate of full set of equipment is only 5~8% of the generated power. Therefore, such a project is an ideal one with significant benefits for the area where there is plenty of biomass resources but is short of electric power supply or with higher electricity expense.

    In general, the investment for major equipment can be taken back from power generation benefits within first two years. The equipment can be safe and reliable operated with operational technology that's easy to be mastered by workers, and the maintenance and repair work is similar to ordinary diesel generators.

    3.FENGYU Fluid-bed Gasifier

    FENGYU’s fluid-bed biomass gasifier (patented product of Fengyu Group) gets high conversion efficiency, by taking rice husk as an example, each KWH power generation consumes only 1.6~1.8kg rice husk, the unit fuel consumption will be still lower by using wood chips or crop stalks as fuel. When operation temperature is 800, the tar production ratio in fluid bed gasification furnace is about 2.5%. Tar content after decoking treatment is less than 50mg/Nm3, through strict cleaning and thermal cracking, the dust & tar content of biomass gas are very tiny, which can meet the requirement for the internal-combustion engine and steam turbine normal operation.

      Main components and caloricity of biomass gas are subject to characteristic of biomass fuel and gasification method.
    The caloricity of biomass gasification gas is normally 1100-1500kcal/Nm3. (4.6~6.3MJ/Nm3)

    Process characteristics

    Gasification of refuse incineration is the third generation of garbage disposal method and compared with the conventional waste treatment methods, gasification with energy recovery rate high, little secondary pollution, a small amount of smoke, the second combustion chamber high temperature to prevent the generation of dioxins, and can effectively with waste heat boiler with producing steam or electricity generation; gasification and melting technology combination makes the organic components of waste to be utilized at the same time, stabilization of inorganic constituents, harmless and resource utilization, thus fundamentally solves the problems of secondary pollution of dioxins and heavy metals, with broad prospects for development. Gas pyrolysis also can directly use the power for internal combustion or burning boilers and various industrial furnaces.

    Suitable for sorting garbage, RDF, daily handling of garbage 100~400 tons, power generation 3~12MW.

    Per kilogram of waste generate 2Nm³ gas, calorific value above 1000 kcal.

    Process Introduction

     Ⅰ、Garbage sorting and drying

    Sorting system can be divided into the following three processing section:

          1,Garbage collection section

    Using a large hopper and chain conveyor to accept the garbage put into the crane.

    2,Broken bag, broken section

    According to the sieve on the plastic bag for more than 5L the following small bag, the system uses shear broken bag machine, to improve the broken bag effect.

    3,Sorting segment  

    Taking into account the complexity of the composition of life garbage, separation line is equipped with the following three-tier sorting system:

    ²   First mechanical sorting: the use of bounce screening machine will be divided into sieve on the screen of light waste material, sieve under the heavy material and sieve under the material.

     4,RDF molding system process description

    ²  Shredder

    After sorting treatment of domestic waste as RDF raw materials sent to the crusher for crushing, broken garbage can be directly used for gasification gasifier, can also be made by RDF RDF particles forming machine.

    Ⅱ、 Garbage pyrolysis and gasification

    According to different types of garbage, a fixed bed or a fluidized bed can be adopted as a gasification furnace, and combustible gases such as carbon monoxide, hydrogen and low-molecular hydrocarbons are obtained by pyrolyzing the gasified garbage by means of anoxic combustion, Residual ash is discharged from the furnace by means of mechanical ash discharging equipment, and the combustible gas obtained by gasification can be further released to further release its chemical energy.

    Main technical characteristics and basic parameters of garbage gasifierⅢ、 Secondary high temperature combustion

    Waste pyrolysis and gasification and release the gas of carbon monoxide, hydrogen, methane and other combustible, the high temperature pyrolysis gas into the two combustion chamber for full combustion, two combustion chamber design temperature of >850. Through the combustion of automatic control, to ensure that the combustion chamber exit temperature is maintained at more than 850 degrees Celsius, the flue gas in the furnace residence time is greater than 2 seconds, to minimize the generation of dioxin.

    Ⅳ、 Waste heat boiler power generation

    The high-temperature flue gas, which has been fully combusted in the secondary combustion chamber, is sent to the boiler inlet and then to the superheater, evaporator and economizer and finally to the atmosphere through the chimney. The resulting superheated steam will drive the turbine to generate electricity. Steam turbine type condensing unit, and boiler supporting parameters for the temperature in the pressure type.

  • Along with the development of mechanized coal mining, pulverized coal is accounting for an increasing proportion of coal. At the same time, the coal resources become more and more lacking, so the original low-quality coal also be used as energy.It has great impact to fixed bed gasification method which use high quality coal as raw material in our country. Contraposing the characteristics and development trend of coal resources in China, our company has developed a large fluidized bed with pulverized coal gasification technology, mainly for the below  10 mm the pulverized coal, coal such as brown coal and bituminous coal, by thermal chemical conversion, improve the low-quality coal's quality and efficient and improve  enterprise economic benefits.

    This process is according to the characteristics of the high fixed carbon content in coal, using circulating fluidized bed with steam gasification, control the fluidized bed gasification furnace temperature at about 950 ℃, to achieve the carbon and steam coal gasification reaction.
